Rori Knudtson Biography:
Rori Knudtson is an artist and architect working with installation, sound, video and performance questioning physical, psychological and social constructs of space. Currently, she is working on production of a film project in Svalbard in fiscal sponsorship with the New York Foundation for the Arts and has recently launched a five-year urban renewal project with the city of Copenhagen and the School of Critical Engagement. She received her BSVC from Ohio University, her M.Arch from the University of Colorado and her MFA in New Media from Transart Institute/Berlin. She has served as a critic at the Bergen School of Architecture (Norway), the University of Colorado (Boulder/Denver), Otis College of Art and Design Public Practice Department (Los Angeles), and several other institutes in the United States and Europe.
Rori completed a two-year residency with RedLine 2008-2010) and will be in residency in the fall of 2011 at USF Verftet/Bergen (Norway). She is the recipient of grants from the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Jennifer Moulton Foundation, fiscal sponsorship with the New York Foundation for the Arts and was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Medal in 2007. She lives and works between Los Angeles and Copenhagen.
