Photographer, sculptor and RedLine founder Laura Merage was born in Tehran, Iran. She moved to Los Angeles at age fifteen and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California and her Masters Degree in Art from New York University.
Laura Merage’s photographs are a constant exploration of her self, her emotions and the discovery of life as she sees it through the camera lense. Her “dolls” a series of soft sculptures that differ in size from tabletop to larger than life, express the gamut of human emotions.
Multi-media projects, like nailing photos of human figures and body parts into exotic wood boxes is among some of Laura’s creations. Other works include over three hundred self portrait ink drawings done on photographic paper. Laura also works in bronze, she breaks live casts of models’ faces and hands, puts them back together in innovative forms and attaches them on exotic wood planks or bases.
Laura’s works can be seen in public and private collections nationally and internationally.
