As October’s colorful tapestry gives way to the cozy tranquility of November, we invite you to slow down and enjoy the diverse and dynamic talent of RedLine artists.

November kicks off with new exhibitions featuring our REACH Core Artists and a retrospective of work by Gonzo. You can also tune into an exciting art-focused podcast this month to hear about the creative journey of our very first REACH Core Artist Resident, Juannean Young.

Meanwhile, three Resident Alumni will be featured in group exhibitions in Denver and beyond.

About the project: Rooted in symbolism, the concept of light is a ubiquitous metaphor for illumination, knowledge and positivity. Light is all around us and is constantly being explored as art’s subject and as a medium. These six artists featured in this exhibition unveil, obscure and refract light in efforts to understand it’s profound impact on human emotion.

About the artist: Eileen Roscina Richardson is an artist, chef and naturalist from Denver, Colorado who works in a wide variety of mediums. Eileen is an experimental filmmaker with a BFA from Emerson College in Boston, MA  a botanical illustrator, trained at the School of Botanical Art and Illustration in Denver, CO, and a Natural Food Chef, trained at Nutritional Therapy Institute. Through biomimicry and the study of biophilia, her work examines and seeks to raise questions about human’s spiritual and social (dis)connection with nature.

Vini Alfonso - From Flesh to Infinity Duo Exhibition

When: November 2, 2023 - January 6, 2024

About the exhibition: Through Flesh to Infinity conveys the nuances of opposing ideas coexisting within a single being, embodying figurative and non-figurative expressions, akin to the intertwined nature of bodily functions and spiritual expansion. This juxtaposition of refinement and chaos, containment and flow, illustrates the profound transformation that can be experienced within the human condition, evoking a garden-like sense of abundance and wonder.

About the artist: Vinni Alfonso was born and currently works in Denver CO. He graduated with a BFA from Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in 2012. Alfonso was a resident artist with Helikon Gallery from 2015-2019 and has been an associate member at Pirate Art since 2018. Alfonso was invited by YesMaam Projects to participate in the DeepCrit program in 2020. Alfonso has been published In Rooster Magazine, Birdy Magazine, Nakid Magazine, and Juxtapose Magazine

Tony Ortega - Unbreakable Group Exhibition

When: September 16 - December 3, 2023

About the exhibition: Unbreakable presents artworks with an emphasis on Latina and Chicana artists and their stories of survival and resilience. Selected from the landmark Gilberto Cárdenas and Dolores Garcia Collection, which the Blanton recently acquired, these works explore a major theme shaping the couple’s distinctive collecting practice: art with a feminist framework. Created with various techniques since the 1970s, these works of art represent the act of surviving difficult or violent realities, ranging from immigration and poverty to misogyny and genocide.

About the artist: Tony Ortega is a Denver-based visual artist and educator. His work has been exhibited in over 30 solo shows and featured in exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, CO, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Colorado Spring Fine Art Center, Harwood Museum, Taos NM, RedLine Contemporary Art Center, Denver and the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Albuquerque, NM. His work is in the collections of the Denver Art Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum, the Blanton Art Museum, Austin, TX, and the Museo Estudio Diego Rivera, Mexico City.
