Whether it’s the price of a painting, a performance honorarium or a commissioned public artwork, artists still struggle with how to demonstrate and communicate their comprehensive value to clients and the community. Learn from your peers about establishing and insisting on your value as an artist and creative professional. This panel discussion will provide tips to better communicate the worth of your creative goods and services. It will also cover strategies for successful negotiations and ways you can be a better advocate for the arts sector overall.
Panelists:
Gregg Deal, Visual Artist
Kalyn Heffernan, MC/Producer, Wheelchair Sports Camp
Chandler Romeo, Visual Artist
Moderated by Laura Bond, Senior Communications Officer at The Denver Foundation
This event is produced in partnership between the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts, Clyfford Still Museum, Art
Students League of Denver, and RedLine. Thanks to our terrific speakers for sharing their knowledge and to our various arts partners for hosting these workshops and helping us spread the word!
Advancing Creatives is CBCA’s artist professional development and business skills education programming. These workshops are designed to connect creatives of all kinds (musicians, filmmakers, writers, dancers, painters, graphic designers, etc.) with experts in various industries to learn about relevant topics, such as finance, marketing, taxes, social media and more. Advancing Creatives seeks to build the entrepreneurial skills and professional capacity of Colorado’s creative workforce and leaders.
