What is 48 Hours?
48 Hours of Socially Engaged Art & Conversation Summit is a two day summit and exhibition that engages cultural organizations, non-profits, artists, and individuals to share their expertise on cultural responsiveness, social responsibility, and collective leadership.
48 Hours aims to promote positive social change through creativity and innovation.

2021 Theme: Afrofuturism + Beyond
Throughout 2020 and 2021, RedLine's exhibitions and programs, including 48 Hours, will be inspired by the cultural genre known as Afrofuturism.
With rich and expansive source material that ranges from ancient mythology, science fiction, astrophysics, and technology to social justice movements, indigenous ethics, and popular culture, the possibilities for exploring this genre are boundless.
2021 Exhibitions
Creating Space exhibition presents opportunities for designs, artwork, and ideas that transport viewers into new, imagined and inclusive realities. Work was submitted through an open call process.

48 Hours Afrofuturism Book Club - Register & Read More Here!
RedLine and Lighthouse Writers Workshop will be hosting a monthly book club between June and September of 2021 that will focus on our annual theme of Afrofuturism + Beyond.
The goal is to create a space to deepen our communal knowledge around afrofuturist themes through engaged discussion. Additionally, this book club will allow for sustained dialogue in anticipation of our 48 Hours of Socially Engaged Art and Conversation Summit.
