Secret Love Collective
Building Queer Community Through Art
Artworks and costumes are created among the general public at the Denver Public Library (most likely the Park Hill branch) and the Jefferson County Public Library (most likely the Edgewater or Arvada branch). We will invite participant makers to then join us in the Denver Pride Parade wearing their costumes and displaying what they made. The parade usually takes place on the third Sunday in June, starting at Cheesman Park and ending at Civic Center Park.
Secret Love Collective will hold a series of workshops at local public libraries where young people and adults can create costumes, banners, and props for the 2020 Denver Pride Parade. The goal of the project is to create pop-up spaces for the LGBTQ+ community to gather, create art together, and make friends. Participants will also have the opportunity to march together with Secret Love in the parade and make Pride more arty!
